A Guanyao glazed bowl, Song dynasty

A pottery bowl in open shape 斗笠碗 (doulì wan) similar of a hat on a narrow, low, circular foot. The exterior is covered with a crackled glaze, with a sense of depth, in the form of fish scales in shades of celadon, earthy and brown. The mouth and base are exposed, revealing a glimpse of the pottery. The walls are thin and the shape is elegant. It is in excellent condition with no cracks or restorations.
