Description.
Enameled porcelain in the wucai 五彩 technique with a frieze full of dragons among vegetation, chasing flaming pearls, divided by vertical phoenixes. They are surrounded by concentric circles below a band of Buddhist symbols, ruyi, lotuses, and plant elements. Inside is another dragon surrounded by flames and inscribed in a double circle. The elements are represented in five colors of enamel overglaze and blue underglaze.
The form stands on a narrow foot that rises to the open edge. It features a six-character blue underglaze mark "大清光绪年制" (Dà qīng guāngxù nián zhì) on the base.
