Description.
Made of enameled bronze. The box has a square shape with straight corners and enamel panels on each of the facets. In the Kangxi period, this bronze enameling technique was introduced in China from Western craftsmanship. For this reason, there are objects with Western-inspired scenes. It consists of applying a white enamel base, firing it and then painting it with colored enamels. The art of enamel painting reached its peak in the Qianlong period. It was mainly used to make objects for everyday use. In good condition, with patina. On the base it has a mark "乾隆年制" (Qiánlóng nián zhì), made in blue.
