Birdcage with automaton songbird, 19th - 20th century

Brass cage with a small bird inside, adorned with fine feathers and arranged next to thin branches of green leaves, which has an internal mechanism that simulates the song of the bird. The base, circular, is supported by four elongated feet, and is adorned with scrolls in relief and set blue stones. Crowning the cage, a small glazed ceramic applique with floral motifs.
