Blue-and-white enamelled porcelain cup, Qing dynasty

A small porcelain cup with cobalt-blue and white glaze. It has an elongated flared foot, on which the body is slightly flared towards the mouth. The body is decorated with characters surrounded by wavy stems of flowering peonies, followed by the foot, with decorative borders of vegetal motifs and small ruyi from which dangling bead pendants are suspended. Inside the foot is a six-character seal ‘大清嘉庆年製’.
