Blue and white "hulu" vase, Qianlong period (1736 - 1795).

With a six-character square seal 大清乾隆年制 (made in the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty) on the base in blue on white underglaze.

The vase is in the form of a 'hulu' gourd with two main decorative bands depicting dragon medallions surrounded by ruyi and twining branches. The borders separating, or framing, the two large bands are composed of cartouches, ruyi, fretwork or petals. All the decoration is in cobalt blue on a white background.

The piece is in perfect condition with no breakages or restorations.
