Blue and white porcelain vase ‘Phoenix and dragon’, with Ming seal

Modelled porcelain, decorated with blue and white underglaze glaze. It has a rectangular base and a flared foot, on which is a rounded body that narrows at the shoulders, forming a stylized neck flanked by two handles in relief and ending in a large flaring mouth. It is decorated with a central scene of dragons and majestic phoenixes surrounded by curling clouds, flaming pearls and blooming lotuses. The mouth and foot are decorated with decorative borders of large banana leaves and geometric patterns. With a six-character stamp on the base ‘大明万历年制’.
