Description.
Bronze. He personifies the image of the Buddha with a serene face, lowered eyelids, slightly arched eyebrows, a slight smile, and elongated nose and lobes. He wears ear jewellery and a crown or tiara, also depicted in great detail, elaborated with designs of beads, scrolls, flowers and flames. The hair is tied back at the top. In a condition commensurate with its antiquity.
The characteristics shown, in addition to the quality of the representation, the remains of ancient lacquer or polychrome coatings and the exceptional patina of natural origin, are consistent with the final period of the Ayuttahaya kingdom.
