Description.
Bronze figure, showing the image of Xuan Wu or ‘玄武’, also known as the ‘Dark Warrior’, this representation, a classic in Asian mythology, shows the figure of a large turtle, with a rough body and large shell, which raises its head looking at the elongated and scaly snake that surrounds its body. Both animals are thought to symbolise longevity and strength.
