Bronze ‘Urli’ or ‘Charakku’ vessel, India, 19th century

A traditional Indian bronze vessel, used for cooking and serving food to both temples and families on special occasions. On the sides is the mark ‘VSP’ and an inscription with the possible name of the city of manufacture. It has two small handles decorated with reliefs of ornamental and floral motifs.
