Cantonese vase famille rose “Scenes”, 20th century

Porcelain vase of octagonal shape, with slightly flared foot and elongated body that widens slightly towards the shoulders, giving way to a stylized circular neck, ending in a wide lobed mouth. 

Decorated with colorful enamels, it shows on the body, alternating scenes of palace characters with small landscapes with animals inscribed in “hulu” cartouches. The neck and foot are decorated with the characteristic pink and blue backgrounds, covered with lotuses in bloom and colorful scrolls.
