Description.
A celadon-green jade sculpture in the form of a long-billed bird holding a reticulated branch with three fleshy-looking peach fruits. The body is lying flat on the ground and the neck is curled backward, with the head on the back. The wings are closed and the feathers are depicted in relief. The details of both legs are carved on the base. The combination of a crane with peaches symbolizes longevity, due to its association with immortals.
With a carved wooden base depicting branches with intertwined leaves in filigree.
Size: 5.6 x 6.8 x 9.3 cm; Weight: 311 g; Wooden base: 2.90 x 5.70 x 10.50 cm
