Description.
A masterfully carved white jade. It shows the image of a large crab, with a thick carapace and wide claws, arranged on a curved branch of water lilies, with coiled stems, broad leaves and fine flowers that blend in with the crustacean. It is set on a carved wooden base, with details of curling openwork water lilies, made to size. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
