Description.
A carved jade of ochre-coloured jade with reddish and light patches. It shows the figure of a bird, standing on its two outstretched legs, with its wings stretched out alongside its body and its neck curled up, looking straight ahead. The fine details of the plumage are incised and the work is very meticulously executed. It shows patina from ageing. Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) or later.
