Carved jade figurine ‘Resting Deer’, Qing dynasty

Light-coloured jade with amber-toned flecks, carved in one piece. It depicts a small nature scene in which a young fawn rests, its body lying on its upturned legs with its head turned, under a large tree with thick branches covered with beautiful lingzhi. A steep rock is arranged on the other side, joining the tree at the top and closing the composition.
