Carved jade ring, Eastern Zhou dynasty

Ring (板指) of jade. It is in very good condition, with wear. This type of ring is placed on the pulling finger, the thumb of the right hand, to hook the string when practising archery. The upper profile is decorated with spikes and the outside with very subtle "taotie" reliefs.
