Carved jade “Sage and poem”, Qing dynasty

Carved jade with a light, slightly yellow or greenish tone and subtle orange flecks. The jade is carved organically, with rounded edges and a curved centre. It is decorated with subtle incisions, showing on the obverse side the image of a wise old man among mountains next to a chest, and on the reverse side, a poem next to a small seal.
