It has an inscription on the side.
叔明先生嘱。庚子年花朝月 胡正言。
It indicates that it is made for Mr. Shuiming by Hu Zhengyan in the eighth month of the lunar calendar of the Gengzi year. Hu Zhengyan was an engraver and publisher of calligraphy, painting and seals in late Ming dynasty China.
