Description.
A tripod censer made of carved stone of a dark mottled colour. It has a circular base, set on three short claw-shaped feet. The cylindrical body is decorated with a central scene that alternates sinuous dragons with two large archaic masks from which moveable rings hang. A concave lid covers the mouth, which is decorated with a border of small dots that frame the central image of the face of a ferocious dragon with long beards and sharp teeth. It shows age-related wear. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
