Carved stone figure ‘Dragon and phoenix’, 20th century

A deep reddish-coloured carved agate, showing the imposing image of a dragon and a phoenix. The bird crowns the composition, with an upright body, outstretched wings, slender neck and intense gaze accompanied by a sharp beak; the long tail extends in the form of a flame, and above it is the dragon, with a slender, sinuous body, bent legs and head facing forward, just like the bird. The figures, executed with great realism, show fine engraved and openwork details.
