Carved stone seal ‘Lion’, 20th century

A beautifully carved stone of a whitish colour with subtle amber flecks. It has a quadrangular base, decorated with inscriptions on the front face, and the image of a lion in relief on the upper part. The animal is shown sitting on its hind legs, with its tail curled up, and its head leaned to one side, looking towards the back. It has large eyes and a wide muzzle, and its jaws are half-open, revealing its sharp fangs. On the base there is a seal in bas-relief with traces of red sealing wax.
