Chinese lacquered folding screen with six leaves, 20th century

Lacquered wood decorated with inlays. The panels are rectangular with two trimmed profile feet. It is decorated on both sides. With wear and faults.

At the ends of the obverse there are rectangular divisions housing female figures, mythological animals or treasures. They surround a scene that shows a palace garden with influential people, servants and beings of oriental folklore. All the figures are made of carved hard stones. The backgrounds are made in gilt and the frames with mother-of-pearl inlaid in the form of rice grains. The reverse side is red with flowers painted in silver.
