Description.
Pigments and gold on canvas, mounted with a wooden frame (unframed). On the outside of the painting there is a poem dealing with the prayers of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. The canvas inside depicts this buddha along with a signature and two seals.
Signature of the poem: 臣梁诗正敬书. Liang Shizheng (1697-1763) "梁诗正" was an official and calligrapher of the Qing dynasty. He is regarded in poetry and prose as a relevant author.
Painting signature: 臣陈枚恭画 (Painting by Chen Chen Meigong). Qing dynasty painter; Seal: 陈枚之印 (Seal of Chen Meizhi, Dianhuan); Seal: 殿抡 (Dianhuan Miaozhuan, private seal).
