Description.
Cinnabar ink piece with a polychrome landscape in relief, located on the obverse. The shape is foliated and flat with a protruding rim. It has carved inscriptions in relief on the obverse, reverse and sides. On the sides are inscribed: "大清乾隆年制" (Dà qīng qiánlóng nián zhì) and "赐本 臣 彭元瑞恭慕" (Respectfully given to this minister, Peng Yuanrui).
Peng Yuanrui (1731-1803) was a learned man originally from Nanchang, Jiangxi, and held various high official positions such as: Jinshi, Minister of Rites, Military Affairs and Industry and as co-organizer of the university.
