Dingyao' glazed ware pillow, Song dynasty

A modelled ceramic pillow covered with a beautiful off-white glaze. It has an elliptical base that dips slightly in the centre. The body is decorated with openwork details of interwoven circles, embossed with a rope-pattern. The upper part is decorated with sgraffito details of scrolls covered with small leaves. Ding kiln, Song dynasty (960-1279) or later.
