Description.
Carved white jade, with reddish and amber flecks, part of the ‘skin’ of the jade itself. Composed of two rectangular plates carved on both sides, with meticulous relief details showing a beautiful traditional landscape, with rugged mountains, small trees, stylised herons and small characters engaged in various activities. Both jade pieces are set in a custom-made wooden frame of reddish and orange colours, elaborately decorated with archaic, openwork and relief patterns. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
