Description.
Elegant vase in modelled porcelain. On a short circular base is a body with a balustraded profile, an oval belly and an elongated neck that ends in a flaring mouth, below which are two sinuously shaped ‘ears’. The exterior is covered with a deep reddish glaze, on which is a network of floral decorations made with gold pigment. The floral decoration is divided between the belly and neck by borders of fretwork, lace and ruyis. On the base, covered with a delicate sky-blue colour, is a six-character seal ‘大清道光年制’ in underglaze blue. Qing dynasty (1644-19129) or later.
