Unique and limited edition of 2998 copies. Printed on Modigliani Bianco cotton paper (145 g) and die-cut in imitation of the original print. Numbered "1421" and comprises three volumes. The first volume contains the 80 prints in original size that make up the "Desastres de la guerra" by Francisco de Goya (1746-1828), reproduced from the first edition of 1863, which is kept in the Museo del Grabado de Fuendetodos (Zaragoza, Spain).
In the second volume entitled "Studies", different specialists such as the historian Valeriano Bozal and the academics Coca Garrido and Jesusa Vega analyze the importance of this series from a historical, technical and artistic point of view. Finally, the third volume, entitled "Witnesses of an era" by Oscar Jané, brings together newspaper articles, manifestos, letters and other information that allows the reader to contextualize the situation at the time.
The first volume comprising the prints is protected by a box with velvet covers. The three volumes in turn are preserved in a cloth slipcase with a portrait of Francisco de Goya on one of the inside covers.
In very good condition. Also includes a bronze plaque with Goya's signature and the original outer box.
