Gilded bronze guardian, China, Qing dynasty

A bronze sculpture of a Buddhist deity, with the attributes of a Buddha, dressed in elaborate robes and jewellery. She holds a celestial scarf and is seated on a lotus pedestal with a double-crossed 'vajra' emblem at the base. It is gilded and polychromed, with wear and patina.
