Description.
Ceramic modelled in the form of a ‘Yuhuchunping’ vase, with a short circular foot on which is placed a wide, pear-shaped belly that narrows at the neck and ends in a flaring mouth. The exterior is decorated with underglaze blue and white enamels, creating a succession of overlapping stripes of alternating fretwork, lotus latticework, lacework, banana leaves and curved branches of peony blossoms. At the base is a six-character stamp ‘大明嘉靖年制’.
