Description.
A modelled ceramic vase with a circular base, a short foot and a rounded, pear-shaped belly that extends into an elongated, stylized neck that widens at the level of the mouth, with a small turned-up rim. It is decorated with an underglaze ochre ground, on which are cartouches with alternating geometric patterns and small scenes of bamboo branches and beautiful flowers. Jizhou kiln, Song dynasty (960-1279) or later.
