Glazed porcelain dish, Bi Yuanming (1907 – 1991), 1948.

On the front it is decorated with an enamel scene. It depicts two monkeys, standing on rocks with peaches and vegetation, next to a tree. On the side it indicates 加官进爵 in black enamel, meaning, "to be promoted to a higher rank". On another line it indicates with eight Chinese characters 戊子仲春毕渊明作 "Written by Bi Yuanming in the mid-spring of the year Wuzi" this year is 1948. Made in Jingdezhen.
