Description.
Modelled porcelain in the form of a bowl, with a narrow circular foot, convex body, curved profile and wide mouth. It is decorated with a continuous scene of majestic phoenixes interspersed with large, carved peonies in blossom, giving depth to the composition. The entire surface is covered with a faint turquoise-toned celadon glaze with a subtle network of small craquelures. Longquan Kiln, Song dynasty (960-1279) or later.
