Description.
Chinese porcelain glazed plate representing a winter scene in a snowy mountain landscape. Two characters are crossing a bridge, over a frozen river, and heading to a dwelling situated on the other side of the river, all surrounded by pine trees. Snowy landscapes are representative of Yu Wenxiang's work, an award-winning Chinese porcelain artist who worked all his life in Jingdezhen.
An inscription appears at the top:
踏雪访友 "Visiting friends in the snow."
壬寅年 冬月 余文襄 画于 珠山 In the winter months of the Ren Yin year (1962) was painted by Yu Wenxiang in Zhushan.
On the reverse is a seal done in red enamel indicating:
景德镇艺术瓷产 / 美研室 / 1962年 "Jingdezhen Artistic Porcelain Factory/Beauty Research Bureau/Year 1962."
