Green family ‘Imperial Court’ porcelain dish, Qing dynasty

A large modelled porcelain dish, with a slightly deep interior, decorated with enamels in ‘green family’ colours. It depicts a central scene, filled with figures in a beautiful garden, accompanying a nobleman or emperor seated behind a large table, who is writing with a large pen. The border is decorated with a band of plant and geometric motifs in soft colours, set against a lavender-blue background, on which are four lobed cartouches, in reserve, with depictions of small landscapes.
