Description.
A ceramic bowl with a greyish-grey, crackle-glazed celadon glaze, typical of Song-dynasty Guanyao ware. The shape rests on a circular base and has rounded walls at the bottom with a slightly narrower rim. It is in very good condition.
The texture and tonality in Song-dynasty ware stands out from the rest of the pieces of the earlier and later generation. The term "Guanyao" (官窑), refers to the official kiln from the Tang to the Yuan dynasty.
