Representation of “Guanyin” made in carved white jade. It shows the hieratic deity, dressed in a long robe that covers from head to bare feet, with a soft knot at chest level, and full of delicate folds made with mastery. She shows a serene expression, with closed eyes, wide nose and small mouth drawing a subtle smile. The hands are placed together in front, in the right hand, she wears a beautiful bracelet on the wrist and holds the left hand, from which hangs a long “mala” of delicate beads ending in a thread with bangs. The hair, done in great detail, is gathered in a high headdress, adorned with a tiara showing a seated Buddha in front.
This figure is arranged on a beautifully carved wooden niche, with a double lotus base and a back surrounded by fine flames.
