Jade archer's ring, Qing dynasty

Jade archer's ring (板指) of dark gray, slightly bluish tone. The shape is smooth, lacking incised decorations, with a slightly domed body.

These types of rings are placed on the pulling finger which is the thumb of the right hand to hook the string when practising archery. Over time, they have become more decorative than functional.
