Description.
A carved jade figure, ochre-coloured with reddish-golden flecks, depicting the figure of the monk Bodhidharma standing firm, with his left leg bent, on the back of a small foo dog with a raised head and curled tail.
He is dressed in a long robe knotted at the hips by a thin belt, and a cloak draped over his shoulders. His face has a relaxed countenance, with wide eyes, a broad nose, long ears and a thick beard. A thin, curled turban covers his head.
The piece is set on a wooden base carved with fine branches and flowers.
