Description.
A Hetian carved jade pendant, elegantly white in colour with amber flecks. It has an oval shape with rounded outlines, decorated with a relief scene of a crouching rodent watching a butterfly with outstretched wings. It has a hole at the top for the insertion of a cord. In Chinese culture, the squirrel is a symbol of wealth, longevity and good health.
