Description.
A trapezoid-shaped jade plaque of green, reddish and golden tones. The upper and lower areas are decorated with a succession of small openwork circles. The obverse is decorated with a bas-relief image of a phoenix in the archaic style, with large legs, wings folded over the body, open round eyes and a sharp, curved beak. Zhou Dynasty (AD 770-221) or later.
