José Gumbau Vidal (1907-1989) "Study of the artist"
Oil on panel - Signed and dated 1944.
Painter born in Villareal (Castellón) trained at the Escuela Superior de San Carlos de Valencia. After the Spanish Civil War, from 1939 to 1956, he worked as a painter and drawing teacher in Valencia until he moved to Paris in 1956.
