José Royo is a painter born in Valencia in 1941 who, after finishing his training in Fine Arts and with Adolfo Ferrer, worked as a theater set designer, graphic illustrator and restorer, while painting for prestigious competitions and exhibitions in Spain and Portugal. He received many commissions and decided to focus his style towards a painting that reflects the light, color and intensity of his native land. In the 1980's he exhibited constantly abroad, especially in London, Brussels, Copenhagen and Paris, with much success which continued throughout his career.
