Junyao-glazed ceramic ‘Yuhuchunping’ vase, Yuan dynasty

Ceramic covered with a thick glaze with a greyish-blue ground, on which beautiful purple stains stand out, and which runs over the surface, leaving the foot unglazed. It has a traditional ‘yuhuchunping’ shape with a narrow, circular base and a characteristic rounded, teardrop-shaped belly that tapers into a slender cylindrical neck, crowned by a flaring mouth. Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) or later.
