Lacquered wood sideboard, China, 20th century

Carved and lacquered wood with hard stone applications. Four scenes are represented on the front with ladies practicing activities in a garden, made in hard stones and gilding. On the side panels there are birds with flower branches in hard stones. The legs are cabriole shaped and the skirt, with a cut profile, is decorated with flowers with intertwined branches in gilt. The frames have geometric motifs in the corners and flower scrolls in gilt in the center. It retains the original metal fittings. The back is not decorated.
