'Leonis and ruyi' jadeite pipe, Qing dynasty

A beautifully carved jadeite figurine of a light milky hue, with flecks of green. Carved in the shape of a pipe and decorated with motifs in relief of ruyis and foo lions of different sizes, which climb up the body of the object, among long ribbons and beaded pendants with great dynamism. The piece is very skilfully made, and the meticulousness of each of the carved and incised details is outstanding.
