Liuli enamelled snuff bottle ‘Animals’, 20th century

A beautiful snuff bottle made of vitreous paste, known as Liulí ‘琉璃’ and decorated with coloured enamels. It has a rounded, flat body decorated with reliefs of large leaves and busts of horses arranged on the sides, framing the central scenes. The front face shows a small scene, with two rodents next to a lamp and a writing paper, while the back shows a long poem, all in coloured enamel.
