Low carved wooden cupboard, China, 19th century

Carved wood and assembled by means of panel structure and frames. It is divided into three registers. Starting at the bottom there is a drawer followed by two others. At the top are doors with hardware.

The carved panels show elegant ladies in lush palace gardens and traditional landscapes. The foot is trimmed with reliefs and the legs have a mask at the elbow and end in a claw on ball.
