Description.

Pendulum mantel clock, Empire of the second half of the nineteenth century, made of gilded bronze and porcelain Sèvres. Paris movement with chime signed "Rollin á Paris" that needs to be overhauled. The dial is gilt brass with engraved scrolls and enameled Roman numerals. It is crowned by an eagle killing a seripient. On the front it shows enameled porcelain plates with flowers and cherubs. This clock rests on a gilded wooden stand. In good condition with wear. No key.

The French watchmaking firm "Rollin á Paris" took over from Domange in 1840 and from 1870 was established on rue Dunkirk in Paris. Rollin was known for making excellent table and mantel clocks, often inspired by 18th century examples, and employed a variety of styles in its designs, including gilding, marble and Sévres porcelain.
