Description.
A decorative wooden and pigment mask following models from the Mossi ethnic group. Made of wood and pigment from a single piece, it features carved and openwork geometric designs, as well as animal representations in the form of horns.
Used at funerals and rituals, Mossi Karanga masks are used to honour and watch over ancestors.
It shows visible restoration due to breakage.
